The Early College High School of Emergency Medicine!

The Urban Assembly Early College High School of Emergency Medicine is a college and career preparatory program where students solve novel problems with novel solutions to build the skills, knowledge, and networks to be READY for college and career. By engaging in authentic learning experiences daily in the classroom and in the field, students will develop the confidence to pursue their dreams and the character to serve their communities.

College & Career

The Urban Assembly Early College High School of Emergency Medicine (ECHEM) is a public Career and Technical Education high school that prepares students to engage in complex quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills with an understanding of the principles of Emergency Management. ECHEM graduates will be equipped with the skills necessary for entry into the Emergency Management field and for a college of their choice. Our students will engage with internships, collaborative simulations, student-led community training, and strong industry partnerships. We are a continuous learning community invested in understanding our students’ needs for career and college readiness and developing the personal responsibility and empowerment of our students, parents, and staff.

About Us

ECHEM's partnership with the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) enables students to be dually enrolled as high school students at ECHEM fulfilling high school graduation requirements while simultaneously earning 31 credits toward the Applied Associates (A.A.S) paramedic Degree at BMCC and the opportunity to become New York State Certified EMT’s.

Governor Hochul Announces $2.46 Million to UASEM

The funding will allow UASEM to offer a new 9-14 six-year program model where students can earn a high school diploma and a no-cost, Associate’s degree in Paramedicine at The Borough of Manhattan Community College, plus obtain valuable workplace experiences and skills from our industry partner, Northwell Health (the largest Healthcare provider in NYC)
