The Urban Assembly School for Emergency Management (UASEM), a small career technical education (CTE) school with an Emergency Medicine and Healthcare focus nestled in the Lower East Side of Manhattan right off of the Brooklyn Bridge.

the urban assembly school for Emergency Management opened its doors to the students of New York City in 2013. We are a small City school with a health care and emergency medicine pathway Nestle in Lower East Side of Manhattan right off of the Brooklyn Bridge. The type of student at an ATM in the student who is very interested in the healthcare profession what do you want to be an EMT what do you want to be a paramedic what do you want to be a registered nurse hidden health care or emergency medicine we have an emergency response are the types of students who are interested in coming to our school where the first Emergency Management High School in the country I think what we teach her is really novel really different unique I think our school is all about community and being there for each other we live off our five ready values resilience and put the achievement oriented miss being deliberate and being your own Ally and I think for students and staff and our interactions with each other that really guide everything we do I prepare for college which is something that I feel is very important that I desire at any University is and majority of our kids do graduate college credit what makes Emergency Management special is our emergency medicine pathway we have a partnership with the borough of Manhattan Community College in which a student starting her sophomore year can iron out to 31 card what an Apatosaurus degree in paramedics it but that same pathway students have the opportunity to become nationally certified EMT we have the only student-led CPR team in the country in which students learn hands to Heart CPR it's something that's very important because it allows them to get college credits for free in high school when it kind of puts them ahead in those ways to just really do have in mind what kids want and whether that is you know sort of working your way towards Robert over there that's working your way towards becoming an EMT each are equally met with encouragement from faculty and staff I think our school and gets the Christian right and I think that in classrooms on a given day there's always something interesting going on but I think what really does well as the out-of-classroom experience has taught by presenting me with a number of opportunities and allowing me to essentially like network with people opportunities we have the acting like spores which I'm in we also have NYPD explorers da scores if you're interested in his career if the program that could potentially preparing for 54 program is actually opens the door and give you the skills and teaches you this is how you do it and I'll buy you two are kind of crown peace will be our internship program we've had students in turning to New York City Emergency Management New York City Housing Authority we also offer a lot of assertive Nations that you need to get into the field straightaway do all the things that I have in my firefighting certificate Prudential other than the actual fire fighting certificate we're getting all the kids you know access and opportunities to turn those certificates here in school I'm so they can walk out of here ready to go what are teachers RX EMT workers are still curly and two workers ever get to listen to their real-life experiences and I really helped us understand of lake or fuel is we are going into our would-be may consider going answer if you are so I'm coming to the school you could feel very safe and secure and knowing that your teachers are available to you they want to get to know you they want to help you a lot of things that you go you see people that are actually willing to listen to you and take your ideas into consideration and turn you and make you into a better person and not just for the name of the school for their sake but they actually want you to become something and follow your dreams everything has a teacher or staff member that they can go to and have a conversation with I'm having relationships with families having relationships with students and staff members is really at the epicenter of all of the work that way in case you're an emergency management what would looking for is a cancer interested in committed to like service I think this is a school that he should have a mindset of wine to help other people when I even saved a family member from suffocating but we paint is really helpful to everyone can I bought the different prayers and lots of different options but this is a Fairfield we're ultimately you can walk home everyday feeling really good about yourself cuz you you're earning good money but you're doing it helping your community your neighborhood your friends or family members to help I just like helping people in a born and raised here by me playing my part I believe I will make an impact by supporting youth like myself Courier you're genuinely putting in efforts to save someone or just help someone out at Emergency Management college and careers but we also prepare them for their Community our students are imbued with a desire to serve the community and to serve mankind
